A METHAMPHETAMINE dealer who was a member of a drug syndicate smashed by a Hunter strike force targeting the supply of ice across the region has been jailed for a maximum of five-and-a-half years in Newcastle District Court.
Dylan James Gough, 25, had pleaded guilty to supplying a commercial quantity of a prohibited drug, while charges of dealing with the proceeds of crime and participating in a criminal group and contributing criminal activity were taken into account when he was ordered to serve a non-parole period of three-and-a-half years.
Police from Port Stephens-Hunter Target Action Group say they established Strike Force Eadevale in February, 2019, to target the supply of ice in the Hunter.
After extensive inquiries, they arrested Gough and Alex Lowrie, at a home in Hanbury Street, Mayfield on May 9 last year. Police say the searched the home and located methamphetamine and cash. Lowrie pleaded guilty to a number of offences and was jailed in March for a maximum of four years, with a non-parole period of two-and-a-half years.
