Dealer jailed after cops uncovered £100k stash of ecstasy tablets in East Kilbride house

A convicted drugs offender has been jailed for a second time after ecstasy tablets worth nearly £100,000 were seized at a house in East Kilbride.

James McCulloch, 26, was jailed for four years at Hamilton Sheriff Court after he was found guilty of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy.

He was caught after his fingerprint was found on a bag containing a second bag filled with tablets. He is already serving a four-year stretch for a drugs offence.

His latest sentence will not start until his existing service is completed.

Last year Andrew Harkness, 31, was jailed for three-and-a-half years for his part in the same crime.

He admitted being concerned in the supply of ecstasy, cannabis and cocaine at his home in Kendall Road, East Kilbride.

Police raided the house he shared with his parents in December 2017. They seized ecstasy worth around £97,000, cannabis valued at nearly £10,000 and an unspecified amount of cocaine.

Pal McCulloch was charged later after his fingerprint was found.

McCulloch denied being involved and Harkness gave evidence in which he said the drugs were nothing to do with his friend.

The court heard that nearly 10,000 ecstasy tablets were found in a cool bag in Harkness’s bedroom.
