Dealer attacked stranger with machete, mum collapses after food and bomb investigation continues

Drug dealer attacked innocent stranger with machete

A drug dealer showed up at a stranger's house and hit him with a machete in a terrifying attack.

Anthony Hather showed up at his victim's house in Warrington on April 18 this year after mistaking it for someone else's.

The 31-year-old took a machete to the house in what is believed to have been a mix up of addresses before getting into a struggle with the homeowner and beating him with the machete, which had its protective cover on.

Hather, of Biggin Court, Padgate, was found out after the man he attacked found a piece of his skin lodged in his mouth after biting Hather in the ensuing struggle.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the 31-year-old carried out the attack while on bail after being arrested on suspicion of dealing cannabis in 2019.

Mum collapsed in car park after eating meal in restaurant

A mum who had eaten a meal with her family in a restaurant suffered breathing problems and collapsed in the car park.

The family had visited Haute Dolci restaurant in the Coliseum Shopping Park in Ellesmere Port on September 11 last year.

Amy Taylor, who had been diagnosed with a nut allergy earlier in the year, had gone for a meal with her husband and daughter.

A court heard the mum made it clear to the waitress that she had a nut allergy and asked if the food she wanted to order contained nuts or was prepared away from any nuts. The waitress said the food was nut-free.

After starting to eat the food, Amy suffered a severe allergic reaction with a tight chest and breathing problems.

Bomb disposal team returns to Liverpool street at centre of terror investigation

A bomb disposal team returned to a Liverpool street which is at the centre of the investigation into Sunday's terror attack.

Rutland Avenue, which is located close to Sefton Park in the L17 area, is central to the counter terrorism investigation into the taxi bomb attack at Liverpool Women's Hospital.

Counter Terror Police North West confirmed the man believed to have built the Improvised Explosive Device that he carried into a taxi on Sunday has now been formally identified as 32-year-old Al Swealmeen.

Photos taken at the scene on Thursday evening show a bomb disposal unit back at the scene on Rutland Avenue, which police said remains the "main focus" of their investigation.

The bomb disposal team was seen leaving the scene at around 8pm last night but a cordon still remains in place.
