Deal completed for land which forms final phase of huge Nottinghamshire housing scheme

The final phase of a huge housing development in Nottinghamshire can go-ahead following a successful sale of the land.

Savills’ development team, acting on behalf of the seller Lands Improvement, has sold the last 25 acres at Gateford Park, in Worksop, to Barratt David Wilson Homes.

Work will now start this month to build the remaining 300 properties on the site.

Following its successful application for outline planning permission in 2015 for up to 750 new homes, Lands Improvement has worked closely with Savills to carefully select housebuilders for all three phases of the development.

The first two phases are currently being built by Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Jones Homes, who have committed to building 152, 98 and 168 homes respectively.

Now, following the success of Gateford Park so far, Barratt David Wilson has now completed the purchase of the final parcel of land.

Ann Taylor and Andrew Galloway, directors in the Savills Nottingham development team, have been working with Lands Improvement throughout the process.

Ann said: “This sale marks the final stage in the much-anticipated creation of a high-quality gateway community in north Nottinghamshire.

“We were looking for partners to share in this vision and deliver an exemplar housing scheme, in addition to valuing and embracing the holistic place-making across the development.

“After previous success on the site, the sale to Barratt David Wilson Homes completes the final part of the jigsaw and builds on their status as a key developer partner for housing delivery across the site.”

James Stone, managing director at Lands Improvement, said: “The sale of the final phase of development brings the fulfilment of Lands Improvement’s vison for Gateford Park that much closer.”

Mark Cotes, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to deliver high-quality properties to Nottinghamshire homebuyers and continue our investment in this growing community in Worksop.

“Gateford Park has been a fantastic development and we’re looking forward to seeing this community grow.”
