Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut premieres at San Diego Comic-Con, changes a post credit scene to tease Wolverine return

Over the last few weeks, the team behind Deadpool 2 have been teasing a “longer, actionier, spandexier“ version of the R-rated superhero movie.

At San Diego Comic-Con, the Super Duper Cut finally premiered, featuring over 15 minutes of additional action and an extended post-credits sequence.

Anyone who stayed behind at the cinema to watch the original post-credits will remember how Deadpool travels through time to prevent certain events from unfolding. One such moment sees Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, kill Ryan Reynolds just as he signs the contract for the highly-hated Green Lantern movie.

The Super Duper Cut extends this sequence with two extra jokes. The first we already knew about: Deadpool goes back to kill baby Hitler – a scene previously teased by director David Leitch but was cut from the initial release after not testing well with audiences.

The second continues from another previously seen scene. Deadpool travels back to X-Men Origins: Wolverine to kill the version of Deadpool seen in that movie.

However, in the new version, the potty-mouthed anti-hero walks up to Wolverine and says: ”One day your old pal Wade’s gonna ask you to get back in the saddle again. When he does, say yes.”

Fans have already jumped on the scene as a hint that Hugh Jackman could one day return to the iconic role, despite previously saying he would not play Wolverine again following Logan

Also at Comic-Con, the trailer for the Unbreakable and Split sequel Glass was shown, as was a lengthy tease for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead. Warner Bros. also debuted trailers for Shazam!Aquaman, Godzilla 2 and Fantastic Beasts 2. New footage from Wonder Woman 1984 was shown but has not been uploaded online.

Coinciding with the event, there has also been news of James Gunn being fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Joss Whedon working on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.
