Deadline looming for Seahawks to reach extension with Russell Wilson

April 15 is here, the date Russell Wilson and his camp set as the deadline for the Seattle Seahawks to agree to a contract extension with the star quarterback . . . and that deadline could be just hours away.

Monday also marks the first day of offseason workouts for Wilson and the Seahawks.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Wilson’s agent, Mark Rodgers has been in Seattle the last three days negotiating with the Seahawks front office. “They are working on it, but time is running out before offseason conditioning begins,” Rapoport tweeted.

Is the start of the workouts Monday morning the actual deadline?

Reports have indicated Wilson plans to report to the Seahawks offseason workouts Monday regardless of whether or not a new deal is in place.

And with the conditioning program scheduled to start in mere hours, the deadline is looming even closer.

The Seattle Seahawks are now on the clock.
