Dead man found with 'feet poking out of plastic bag' on McDonald's roof

A 18-year-old woman has been charged with murder after the body of a man was found with 'feet poking out of plastic bag' on the roof of a McDonald's in New York.

Ayame Stamoulis was arrested on Thursday evening, the New York post reports.

Police believe Stamoulis and two other men broke into victim Richard Hamlet's flat in what appears to have begun as a burglary.

The trio, who hadn't expected to encounter Hamlet, forced him to drink a caustic liquid before choking him.

They wrapped his body in a plastic bag and tossed it from the building where it landed on the McDonald's roof, reports claim.

The man is believed to have been thrown from a nearby apartment onto the roof (NBC New York)

A witness who lives nearby said: “The smell was pouring in through the window and the feet were poking out.

“He looked like he had been there a few days because he was lying all wet in the water from the rain.”

A maintenance worker who discovered the body notified police and reported just half a body on the roof covered in a removal blanket.

A Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

"This is sad this is happening aside from all the bad things already happening, we should be helping each other not killing each other," Madeline Cancel told ABC 7.

Police are trying to find the two other suspects, who have not been named yet.

An investigation is ongoing.
