A dead kitten has been found dumped inside a pillowcase on a footpath in Carmarthenshire.
The horrific find was made by a woman in Llanelli, who discovered the bloodied cat when on a walk over the weekend.
The female tabby kitten was thought to be between only eight and 10 weeks old.

How she died is not clear, but the RSPCA has said there were “signs of blood on her”.
The animal charity had been contacted by the police after it was alerted to the find by the dog walker, who discovered the kitten on a footpath near Ynys Llas in Llanelli at around 8.25am on Sunday. An investigation is now underway.

“Finding a dead animal in these circumstances must have been extremely upsetting for the lady concerned, and we thank her for raising the alarm,” said Andrew Harris, an animal rescue officer at RSPCA Cymru. "The kitten had been left in a light-coloured pillow case. Very sadly, there were signs of blood on her and she was in a thin condition. At this stage we are keeping an open mind as to what may have happened.
"It’s possible she has died of natural causes and been rather callously discarded, or we could be looking at something more sinister. Either way, we are appealing to anyone who saw anything or knows where this kitten might have come from, to contact us as soon as possible.”
