Dead dog wrapped in recycling bags found dumped on the side of a road

A dead dog wrapped in recycling bags was found dumped on the side of a road in a sickening incident. Animal welfare officers are investigating the incident after the dog, described as a two-year-old American Bully type, was found in Swansea, on Monday, April 10.

A member of the public found the dog on the B489 near Llangyfelachand and reported it to the Animal Welfare Investigations Project. The private team of investigators are "dedicated to exposing serious and organised animal cruelty" and gather information on animal cruelty to submit it to police, local authorities and other statutory agencies.

AWIP confirmed no CCTV footage was available and "no reasonable lines of enquiry have been revealed," and is now encouraging anyone with first-hand information about the circumstances of the dog's death and the disposal of its body to come forward.

An undercover investigator from AWIP, who was not named due to the covert nature of their work, said: "We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and urge anyone with information to contact us. No piece of information is too small. The individual(s) responsible for this act must be held accountable, and we need the public's help to achieve that."

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Animal Welfare Investigations Project through their website or by telephone on 020 8895 6695.
