DE Jurrell Casey was Titans’ highest-graded defender against Jaguars

Thursday’s 20-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars was hardly a pretty one for a Titans team that dropped to 1-2, and hasn’t won a division matchup this year.

The defense struggled to hassle Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew, and the offense failed to get anything going as Mariota turned in another rocky performance. The offensive line didn’t pay him any favors, allowing nine sacks for a season total of 17.

While no Titans player truly had a special evening, veteran defensive end Jurrell Casey (85.8) graded out most highly, per Pro Football Focus.

Linebacker Jayon Brown (82.5), safety Kevin Byard (73.0), linebacker Rashaan Evans (66.6) and cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (60.3) were listed behind him in that order.

None of these jump out as especially great ratings, highlighting just how poor of a night Tennessee had.

Casey finished the game with three tackles and three assists. This season, he totals six tackles and six assist over three starts.

The Titans will look for a much stronger performance on defense – and as a team – as they prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 29 at noon CT in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
