DE Jurrell Casey says hosting 2019 NFL Draft helps put Titans ‘back on the radar’

Titans defensive end Jurrell Casey announced the No. 82 overall pick of Charlotte offensive lineman Nate Davis in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday.

Casey himself was also drafted in the third round of the draft back in 2011.

Before introducing Davis, Casey spent his day at Nissan Stadium signing autographs and meeting fans in an event sponsored by Tostitos, also participating in a nacho contest in which he lost to a fan.

Like many others, Casey is enjoying the scene in Nashville throughout the event.

“It’s amazing to see,” he told Titans Wire on Friday. “The city was excited for this. We needed this to to get us (Titans) back on the radar. We have more motivation and height to do that now. Having 300,0000 people in Nashville and seeing what it has to offer is really cool.”

Casey will be joined of defense this year with former Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, who was taken by the Titans in the first-round on Thursday. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is expected to give Tennessee an extra boost in coming seasons.

“He can bring a whole lot to the team,” Casey said of Simmons. “He has great skill and talent. He’s quick off the ball with a big body and I’m excited to see what more we can bring to this organization.”

Casey has a positive outlook for the approaching 2019 season as the team continues to build up its roster.

We’re ready to perform give everybody a run for their money.”

The Titans preseason begins on Aug. 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
