De Jong and Griezmann included as key quintet miss out - Barcelona reveal squad for Chelsea game

Chelsea's tour of Japan comes to an end on Tuesday when they face Barcelona in Saitama.

Starting off pre-season with a draw against Bohemians and a win over St Patrick's Athletic on their trip to Ireland, Frank Lampard lost for the first time as head coach on Friday as Kawasaki Frontale sealed a 1-0 win courtesy of a late goal.

The scoreline could have been very different had the Europa League holders converted their chances on goal in either half.

Michy Batshuayi, Pedro and Mason Mount all went close in the opening 45 minutes at Nissan Stadium, with Kenedy then wasting two good openings after the break following some great play from Ross Barkley.

Lampard will no doubt rotate his squad for the clash as he looks to give all his players some minutes on the pitch.

He will have both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tammy Abraham available again after their absence on Friday through illness and tonsillitis respectively, but he will have to do with N'Golo Kante who has returned home due to the ongoing issue with his knee injury.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde also has a strong squad at his disposal for the game as he has named a nice blend of youth and experience.

Players such as Gerard Pique, Ivan Rakitic and Sergio Busquets are included for the tour of Japan, with new signings Neto, Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann also named for the very first time.

However, there is no place in the squad for the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho, Arthur and Arturo Vidal due to their involvement in the Copa America over the past few weeks.

Barcelona squad to face Chelsea: Ter Stegen, Neto, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Todibo, Dembélé, Rafinha, Malcom, Lenglet, Griezmann, Alba, Aleñá, Roberto, De Jong, Umtiti, Iñaki Peña, Guillem, Araujo, O.Busquets, Monchu, Collado, Riqui Puig, Hiroki Abe, C.Pérez.
