DE JJ Watt wants Texans to have rights to Titans’ throwback Houston Oilers uniforms

There’s no questioning the tenseness in the rivalry between the Houston Texans and the Tennessee Titans.

Texans defensive end JJ Watt has been a big part of that, dating back to the selfie ordeal between he and former Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger that began in 2014.

Now, Watt’s taken yet another jab at his AFC South rival.

The former Wisconsin Badger took to Instagram on Friday evening, with an interesting reply to a happy birthday message from a league-run social media account.

“Thank you NFL,” he wrote. “I’ll check the mail for my present. (Gift idea hint: Get the Titans to give us the rights to the Houston Oilers throwback uniforms).”

The Texans and Oilers share absolutely no connection, aside from a home city. The Titans merely relocated and later changed their franchise’s name — a situation unlike the one with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, with the latter being considered an expansion team.

Watt can keep dreaming, but it’s unlikely he’ll ever get this wish granted.
