De Bruyne, Stones, Laporte, Sane - Man City injury news latest and expected return dates

Kevin de Bruyne

Arguably Manchester City's best performer of the season to date, De Bruyne picked up a groin injury in the win at Everton and was ruled out of the Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb and subsequently the Premier League clash with Wolves.

Pep Guardiola said ahead of the Wolves fixture: “Sometimes he doesn’t play. Sometimes he is a substitute but when he feels good he is good. After the international break he will be ready. It’s not a big, big problem.”

Expected return date: October 19.

John Stones

Defender Stones only lasted one game on his return from a four game absence between August and September before suffering another setback that saw him miss the last four fixtures. He is expected to miss the Wolves fixture, but like De Bruyne should return after the international break against Crystal Palace.

Guardiola said: "Hopefully, after international break John Stones will be back, too."

Expected return date: October 19.

Aymeric Laporte

Laporte was injured in the Premier League win over Brighton and has since undergone surgery after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament.

Pep Guardiola predicted last month Laporte will be absent for six months, although some reports have claimed the Frenchman could return sooner.

Potential return date: February 2020.

Leroy Sane

Sane was injured in the Community Shield win against Liverpool in August, and suffered a similar injury to Laporte. After surgery, Sane has been recovering in Germany and returned to the Etihad for last month's testimonial for Vincent Kompany.

Guardiola's last update on Sane said the winger is recovering well, and could even return before the new year.

Potential return date: December 2019.
