De Bruyne and Sterling start, no Aguero or Laporte - predicted Man City line-up vs Arsenal

It's game day! Arsenal face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Mikel Arteta's side have progressed to this stage thanks to wins over Leicester City and Liverpool in the third and fourth round respectively but now must overcome the holders.

With the games coming thick and fast for Arsenal and Man City, there could be some rotation from Arteta as well as Pep Guardiola.

One player who certainly won't feature at the Emirates Stadium is Gunners captain Pierre-Aubameyang.

Arsenal: 2020 in review

The striker, who scored twice in the FA Cup semi-final win over Man City last season, hasn't recovered from the knock that ruled him out of the 2-1 loss at Everton last Saturday.

"Let's see how the boys are today. Auba is not fit for tomorrow, that's for sure. He won't be playing tomorrow so we will see who is available because we have a few doubts as well in other positions," Arteta confirmed in his pre-match press conference.

"We want to get together a very competitive team because we know the level of City and we want to win the game tomorrow.

"Auba is feeling much better. He was more positive yesterday than the previous two days. He will have another scan the next few days and we will see how quickly we can get him back in the team.

"He knows how important he is for us and he feels the responsibility and he's trying his best to be fit as quickly as possible."

Meanwhile, City have virtually a fully fit squad to choose from with centre-back Eric Garcia the only long-term injury absentee.

And such is the quality of players at Guardiola's disposal, he can leave out the likes of Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, and Sergio Aguero and still name a very strong team.

So, what will the Spanish tactician do at the Emirates Stadium?

As per the Manchester Evening News, the predicted Man City team has John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, and Raheem Sterling all starting, but Aguero has to make do with a place on the bench along with Aymeric Laporte.

Predicted Man City XI vs Arsenal (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling.
