DE Benson Mayowa joining Raiders after one season with Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have seen another of their free agents land with another team. The latest is defensive end Benson Mayowa, who played one year in Arizona.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, he joins the Oakland Raiders, joining former Cardinals receiver J.J. Nelson.

According to Ian Rapoport, the deal could be as much as more than $3 million.

Mayowa started four games last season, appearing in fifteen. He had four sacks and was second on the team with 13 tackles for loss and had 12 QB hits as well. He filled in ably for Markus Golden while he recovered from ACL surgery.

Mayowa was not known for being much of a run defender but was solid in 2018 for Arizona. He made a little more than $1.3 million for the Cardinals last year.
