DCW seeks action taken report from Delhi Police on Rashmika Mandana deep fake video

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has initiated action in response to media reports regarding the widespread circulation of a deepfake video featuring Indian actress Rashmika Mandana on various social media platforms.

The DCW notice, issued on Friday, highlighted the actress's concerns, stating that her image had been illegally manipulated in the video. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.

In a notice addressed to the Delhi Police, the DCW has requested a copy of the FIR filed in this matter, details of the accused, and an action taken report by November 17.

DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal, expressing concern on the social media platform X, stated, "Taking cognizance of the AI Generated Deep Fake video of actress @IAmRashmika, Delhi Women Commission has issued a notice to Delhi Police. Till now no arrest has been made in this case. Strict action should be taken against the person making this fake video."
