DC vs SRH head-to-head: How do Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad match up in IPL history?

NEW DELHI: Fresh off a thrilling one-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Delhi Capitals (DC) will look to build on their momentum when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 at Visakhapatnam on Sunday. The return of KL Rahul strengthens DC, while SRH seek to bounce back from a five-wicket loss to LSG.

Despite their explosive start to the season, SRH’s batting lineup faltered in their last outing. Captain Pat Cummins now faces the challenge of leading his team’s recovery on the road. Meanwhile, DC welcome Rahul, who missed their opening game while celebrating the birth of his first child.

Rahul’s return bolsters Delhi’s top order, which struggled in their previous match. Chasing 211, DC were reeling at 65/5 before Ashutosh Sharma’s unbeaten 66 off 31 balls and Vipraj Nigam’s 39 staged a dramatic comeback. Tristan Stubbs added 34 at No. 6. Beyond his batting, Rahul’s experience will be invaluable in supporting first-time captain Axar Patel.

DC’s bowling unit, featuring Mitchell Starc, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, will be tasked with neutralizing SRH’s aggressive top order of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The battle between Starc and his compatriot Head promises to be a key contest.

SRH showcased their batting firepower with a record-breaking 286/6 in their opening game, with Ishan Kishan’s blistering 106 off 47 balls stealing the show. However, they stumbled against LSG, managing just 190/9.

SRH’s bowling attack remains formidable, featuring Cummins, Mohammed Shami, and Harshal Patel. However, Cummins had a forgettable outing against LSG, conceding 15 runs per over, and will be eager to make amends in this crucial clash.

Head-to-head, SRH hold a slight edge over DC, winning 13 of their 24 encounters. Whereas, DC's 11 wins included a memorable Super Over finish too.
