DC Vance Joseph balances out Kliff Kingsbury’s cool demeanor in practice

The Arizona Cardinals as a team have gotten their first taste of how Kliff Kingsbury will coach his players. So far, one major difference is the more relaxed feel to practice. Steve Wilks and Bruce Arians both would yell a lot. Arians would use foul language. Wilks was intense.

Kingsbury is much more mellow.

Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph balances that out.

While Kingsbury seems to keep things relaxed and focused on execution, Joseph seems to be more like Wilks.

“He’s an intense guy and he expects a lot from his players,” said outside linebacker Brooks Reed on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

Reed says Joseph inspires his players to do more and compete.

On offense, they keep things cool. On defense, they keep things more intense.

The goal? Joseph and the defense don’t want to give the offense anything in practice.

Reed expects great competition between the offense and defense in practices as the year progresses.
