DC Thomson denies shares deal

DC Thomson, the Dundee-based publisher of newspapers and comics, was reported yesterday to have acquired a share of Premier Publishing, the company that produces six Glasgow freesheets. The deal was said to be part of an agreement to offset Premier's debts to Thomson, which prints its papers. But a Thomson spokesperson later denied the claims, saying: "We have not acquired Premier Publishing, nor do we have shares in them. We print for the company and are creditors to them."
