- James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, has confirmed that the sequel to Matt Reeves's The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, is still in development despite rumours of cancellation.
- Gunn assured fans that Reeves is currently working on the script for The Batman Part II, which is expected to be released on 2 October 2026.
- Reeves’s The Batman exists outside the DC Universe in its own universe, but Gunn indicated there's a very small chance Reeves’s Batman could be integrated into the DCU in the future, saying “I would never say zero”.
- DC Studios is also developing a new Batman movie within the DCU, titled The Brave and the Bold.
- Gunn said he is collaborating with the writer to ensure Batman has a clear purpose and isn't just a campy version of the character.
