Uzbekistani pianist Behzod Abduraimov returns to the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, teaming up with Nicholas Carter for Prokofiev’s quirky and uplifting third piano concerto.
The orchestra will perform Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, which for many will cue images of Disney’s Fantasia where Mickey Mouse tried to stop the battalions of buckets until the orchestral tidal wave overwhelmed him.
Ross Edwards’ White Ghost Dancing is also on the bill, followed by Stravinsky’s vivid Petrushka.
