KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Dayton Moore Era is over in Kansas City.

Royals Chairman and CEO John Sherman announced Wednesday afternoon that Moore, who was serving as president of baseball operations, is no longer with the team.

Moore was promoted to President of Baseball Operations in Sept. 14, 2021 after spending the previous 15 seasons as the Royals general manager.

His tenure with the Royals dates to May 30, 2006. He oversaw a World Series championship in 2015.
