Day of dog safety work follows Asbo for Aigburth woman

A DAY of dog safety work was carried out as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Liverpool Mutual Homes teamed up with the Dogs Trust to micro-chip, neuter and do health checks on tenants’ dogs in Aigburth.

The work came after an LMH tenant received an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) in May for failing to control her dog in the Beechwood Road area.

The event, held in Beechwood Gardens for tenants on the Beechwood, Heydean and Hurstlyn estates, saw 36 dogs micro-chipped, 41 neutered and 70 given check-ups to assess their health.

Housing director Angela Forshaw said: “The day was a great success, with so many tenants taking the opportunities to register their dogs, make them safer and check their health.

“We are going to hold more days with the Dog Trust across the city throughout the summer and are calling on tenants who own dogs to be responsible and get them micro-chipped and registered, and to control them at all times.”
