Day of celebration for Emergency Services to take place in Enniskillen

A day of celebration for local emergency services teams will take place in Enniskillen next weekend.

The event, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh Community Safety Partnership along with local emergency services staff, will take place at the Broadmeadow in Enniskillen on Sunday, May 28.

The free event will take place from 2pm until 5pm and will be officially opened by Councillor Paul Blake, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP.

Speaking about the event, Councillor Blake said local emergency services provide an 'invaluable service' to the community.

"Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP is delighted to be working with our emergency services partners to once again highlight the invaluable service they provide across the district, much of which goes unseen and unheralded.," Cllr Blake said.

"I believe it is important that the community is aware of the importance of the work that they do.

"Collaboration between the PCSP and our partner organisations to promote community safety and education to the public is integral to the role of the PCSP.

"I would encourage as many people as possible to come along to this very worthwhile day.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to see at close quarters the work being done by the emergency services in the district with demonstrations from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Northern Ireland Mountain Rescue Team, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service Trust and the PSNI's Canine Display team.

The Coastguard and PSNI helicopters will also be in attendance on the day.
