Day by day Liverpool and Merseyside weather forecast as heatwave predicted

Temperatures are expected to soar from tomorrow with a week of hot weather on its way.

The Met Office has predicted that the mercury will rise to a sweltering 30C on Tuesday - a welcome change to the wet weather this weekend.

According to the forecaster the hot weather is being caused by a 400-mile-wide African plume of hot air which is making temperatures soar.

Here the ECHO takes a look at what the predicted weather will be like every day this week.

Monday

Forecasters predict Monday (22 July) will have sunny intervals and a fresh breeze.

At 6am there will be light cloud and a moderate breeze with temperatures of 19c which will feel more like 22c.

By 11am there will be sun and cloud with temperatures which feel like 26C.

The clouds will disappear by 3pm and the mercury will feel as hot as 29C with the sun expected to shine right up until 9pm at night.

Tuesday

Expected to be the hottest day of the week with temperatures of 30C.

Described as sunny with a gentle breeze, Tuesday will be warm from the outset with temperatures of 17C by 6am.

By 10am the sun will be shining, with no clouds in the sky and the mercury will be 26C and rising.

And by noon temperatures are expected to feel as hot as 30C and remain as hot until 9pm.

Wednesday

Following the heat on Tuesday thunderstorms are expected to hit on Wednesday morning.

Merseyside will see thundery showers and a gentle breeze throughout the day.

rom 6am the stormy weather will begin until around 8am - however the temperature will still feel hot at 24C.

At 10am there will be sunny intervals with cloud which will last up until 4pm, after which the sun will beam and temperatures will feel like 30C.

Thursday

The wettest day of the week as predicted by forecasters, however still remaining warm.

From 9am Liverpool will see light rain and a gentle breeze, up until noon.

There will then be sunny intervals with temperatures of 25C which will feel more like 30C.

The hot weather will carry on throughout the day up until 8pm when rain is forecast which will continue into the early hours of Friday.

Friday

Following a damp day on Thursday the sun will return on Friday.

It will be a warm start, from 6am, with sun and cloud and temperatures of 17C.

Although the sun will be fighting against cloud throughout the day the mercury will still feel hot with maximum temperatures of 25C.

Saturday

Much like Friday there will be sun and cloud on Saturday with warm temperatures.

From 6am the temperature will be 15C, which will feel more like 17C and this will rise by noon.

By 12 the mercury will feel like 22C and there is a low chance of rain.

And these weather conditions will continue throughout the day up until 9pm at night.

Sunday

Sunday will see sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.

Temperatures will reach 22C by noon and there is a low chance of rain throughout the day.
