Dawn Ward shares her young daughter's recovery after being hit by a car

Dawn Ward has updated about her daughter's progress after she was injured in a car accident.

Twelve-year-old Charlie suffered a fractured skull, fractured shoulder and a fractured hip after being hit by a car in Wilmslow town centre before Christmas.

At the weekend The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn shared a photo of Charlie on her Instagram smiling alongside her new pony Nemo and weeks away from being able to ride again.

"Can not tell you how blessed we’re feeling," explained Dawn.

"A few weeks ago we were in Manchester Children’s Hospital with Charlie.

"This picture today makes us realise how lucky we are. She's not allowed to ride her new pony yet only weeks away.

"Still doesn’t stop her enjoying looking after him."

Charlie has a younger sister Aston, 10, who also received a pony, named Dinky, for Christmas.

Dawn added: "Extremely lucky and very grateful to see this picture today.

"She’s stood and watched Aston ride and never complained once!"

The youngster was taken to Macclesfield Hospital before being blue-lighted to The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

The driver of the car was uninjured and no arrests were made.

Dawn told us after Charlie returned home from hospital: "Charlie had huge injuries. She had two brain scans and she was just inches from breaking her neck."

"Great to see her on the mend," messaged one follower.

"So lovely to see her looking healthy and well. Scary time for you all. Much love," said another.

"So good to see Charlie looking so well after what she went through. You have a lovely family," another commented.

"So brave," said another

Dawn also has two older daughters with former footballer Ashley Ward, Darby, 23 and Taylor, 21.

After the accident Dawn and her friends Niki O'Neil and Matt Haycox and fellow Real Housewives stars Hanna Miraftab, Perla Navia, Rachel Lugo, Seema Malhotra Tanya Bardsley rallied around to raise funds for The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

They bought Christmas gifts for every child on ward 78, where Charlie was treated and Dawn will be raising funds for the hospital over the next year.
