Dawn raid uncovers knives, drug packets and mobile phones

A dawn raid by Wirral Police has uncovered a stash of drugs, weapons and mobile phones.

Police raided the address in Birkenhead on Wednesday morning (September 22) carrying out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

During a search of the address, officers seized a quantity of Class A drugs, weapons and mobile phones.

Photos uploaded by police show several knives recovered from the premises as well as packages of what appears to be wraps of drugs, scales, and at least seven mobile phones.

A man was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A spokesperson for Wirral Police said on a post uploaded to their Facebook page: "The local policing team at #TeamBeb have carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Birkenhead this morning.

"During the search of the address, officers seized a quantity of Class A drugs, weapons and mobile phones.

"A male has been arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A. #OpVermont".

Yesterday's raid in Birkenhead follows other successful seizures of drugs on Merseyside.

Merseyside Police arrested three men and a woman for drug supply offences after a warrant was executed at the Railway Hotel on Brighton Road in Waterloo on Saturday September 18.

During a search of the pub large amounts of suspected cocaine, mixing agent and drug paraphernalia were seized.

As well as the drugs and equipment, police found more than £45,000 in cash, believed to be from the proceeds of crime.
