Dawn French looks out of this world as she debuts latest bright hair transformation

Dawn French looked gorgeous as she showed off her bright new hair on The One Show this week.

The Vicar of Dibley star, 65, ws known for her dark brown locks and straight fringe when she played Geraldine Granger.

But now, Dawn decided to test out the waters with a shorter and bolder look.

Appearing on The One Show to chat with hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating, the actress looked fresh with the bob that ended at her chin.

She also embraced the grey colour but kept the famous fringe.

Dawn appeared on the show to discuss her role Dame Trott in the panto, Jack And The Beanstalk.

"Oh my goodness, panto is back! I'm Jack's mum. Lots of fun as Dame Trott," she said.

"I've got lots of children. 43 children. Not in my real life, but as Dame Trott I've got lots of children."

She added: "This is honestly the best fun you could have at Christmas. This is a phenomenal cast."

The actress has been embracing her grey hair after ditching her signature dyed dark hair, as she "couldn't be bothered" to upkeep it.

“I just couldn’t be bothered to keep doing it,” says the low-maintenance star. “So I let my natural grey come through.

“I also cut some of it myself – to my hairdresser’s alarm! It’s much shorter than I’m used to now and I do have certain ‘Grrr’ moments when I don’t know how to style it – I would literally give my old hair 13 minutes of my time each day.”

The comedian had spoken about her plan to grow her hair out, telling Good Housekeeping earlier this year that she is "curious" to see what her iconic bob would look like grey.

Her decision to embrace her natural hair has encouraged others to do the same, with some fans having expressed such on Twitter in response to a photo of her.

One person said that Dawn was a "hairstyle role model" and had been their "inspiration," having similarly embraced grey hair. Others called her as a "trendsetter" and "gorgeous."
