Davy Russell claims he never fell out with Michael O'Leary and Gigginstown

Davy Russell is back on the saddle for Gigginstown House Stud in this weekend - claiming that he was never out of favour.

The Tiger Roll-riding hero was reportedly out of favour with Gigginstown, but the jockey has confirmed that he's ready to move on and will be in action in Punchestown this weekend.

Russell claimed that there never was any falling out between the two sides and that a 'mountain has been made out of a molehill'.

"There has been plenty written and said over the last few days about my relationship with Gigginstown and because I ride a few for them this weekend I am now supposedly ‘back in favour’," Russell told Star Sports.

He added: "As I have said all along, there was never a falling out and they use a big pool of very talented jockeys with no single retained first rider.

"It’s completely up to them who they choose to be on their horses and from my point of view, I’m just delighted to ride them when asked.

"I think a fair mountain has been made out of a molehill and it’s just nice to be able to move on".

The 40-year-old will ride seven times in Punchestown between both Saturday and Sunday.
