Davy Klaassen has said training sessions with his current club Ajax are at a higher level than what he encountered at Everton.
Klaassen was one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in European football in 2017 when he joined the Toffees for a fee in the region of £24 million.
After scoring 14 goals and setting up nine in the 2016-17 Eredivisie season and helping Ajax to the Europa League final, he was expected to add productivity to Ronald Koeman 's team following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
However, Everton tanked following the sale of Lukaku, and Koeman was sacked early in the season, eventually paving the way for Sam Allardyce to take charge at Goodison Park.

During his debut campaign, Klaassen struggled to showcase his quality in the Premier League and made just seven top-flight appearances.
At the end of the term he moved to Werder Bremen and in 2020 he returned to Amsterdam for a second spell with Ajax, where he is currently performing well in a vibrant attacking side.
Speaking to Ajax Life (h/t Inside Futbol ), Klaassen spoke about the standard of the Dutch top flight and while he conceded it doesn't have depth in terms of quality of teams, at Ajax it would appear levels are high.

"Ajax will always remain special to me and I wanted to play at a higher level," he said. "The Eredivisie may not be that, but the training sessions at Ajax are of a higher level than at Everton or Werder Bremen."
Last season, Klaassen was on target 12 times in the Dutch top flight and this season he's helped Ajax excel in the Champions League, with the Amsterdam giants winning all six of their group games to storm into the last 16.
