INDORE: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has received nearly 10 times more applications against the 47 backlog posts of faculty members.
Considering that the varsity hasn’t recruited faculty members for over 25 University Teaching Departments (UTD) for over a decade already, DAVV is set to recruit the backlog posts in the first phase.
The varsity had invited online applications in the month of August and has received around 450 applications for the 47 backlog teaching posts of 13 University Teaching Departments (UTDs).
“The varsity is planning to get done with the counselling process of Common Entrance Test (CET) first. DAVV has also been simultaneously scrutinizing the applications received against the posts,” media spokesperson of DAVV, Dr Chandan Gupta told TOI.
After the scrutiny of the applications, a panel will be formed for the selection of the candidates and thereafter the candidates will be called for interview, he added. DAVV is likely to complete the process of recruiting the backlog posts before the end of this year.
Moreover, the recruitments for the regular and self finance will be done separately.
The recruitment process had initially been delayed due to the confusion of the roster whether 100 or 200 point roster has to be implemented. However, after receiving clarification regarding the same, the recruitment of faculty members is taking place as per the 100 point roster.
At present, the number of professors at the UTD campus is over 105 lecturers, 50 professors and nearly 36 readers of both regular and self-financing courses.
Moreover, over 200 teaching posts are lying vacant in DAVV and most of the teaching work is being done at the UTDs by the guest faculty members.
In a span of a decade over 30 faculty members have retired already and amidst the pandemic as many as three faculty members of UTDs passed away due to Covid-19.
