
Davis Riley has enjoyed a relatively quick rise up the professional ranks after turning pro in 2019 and earning his PGA Tour card just three years later.

1. Davis Riley was born on 17th December 1996, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
2. He took up the game early, helped by growing up just a couple of hundred yards from a golf course, Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg.
3. Growing up, he also loved fishing at a pond behind his home.
4. Back in October 2013, at the age of just 17, Riley shot a 13-under-par round of 58, his lowest to date.
5. He demonstrated his integrity early in his career, calling a penalty on himself on the last hole of the 2013 US Junior Amateur, allowing Scottie Scheffler to win.
6. Another moment of sportsmanship came in the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, where he again called a penalty on himself, on that occasion for using the slope feature on his rangefinder. In doing so, he became the first player to be penalized for a rangefinder-related incident on the PGA Tour.
7. He enjoyed a successful amateur career overall and represented the US at the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup and 2018 Palmer Cup.

8. He attended the University of Alabama, where he claimed a number of accolades. During the 2017/18 season, he finished as the top collegiate golfer in the nation.
9. At the 2016 US Amateur, Riley matched the course record of 64 at Oakland Hills Country Club.
10. After turning professional in 2019, Riley enjoyed a number of good finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour, before earning his PGA Tour card after finishing ninth on the 2020-21 Korn Ferry Tour Points List.
11. His maiden professional win came in the 2020 Panama Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.
12. During his career on the Korn Ferry Tour, he was roommates with Will Zalatoris, who had previously beaten him in the US Junior Amateur.
13. Riley is married to Alexandra Patton. The pair tied the knot in December 2022.
14. She was there to witness Davis win his first individual PGA Tour event at the 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge (a year earlier, he'd won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans along with Nick Hardy).

15. His Charles Schwab Challenge win banked him $1.638m - and he also won a 1975 Schwab Stingray car.
