Davina McCall was 'stuck in no man's land' while she lived with ex-husband amid divorce

Davina McCall says she was stuck in “no-man’s land” following her divorce, while she still lived in the same house with ex-husband Matthew Robertson.

The Masked Dancer judge separated from her husband in 2017, and turned 50.

She tells Good Housekeeping: “I was in a real transitional phase.

“We’d still been living in our house together, which was awkward.

"I was in this weird no-man’s land."

Davina soon things around when she decided to finally move out and find a place of her own following the breakdown of her marriage.

After she made the decision to go out on her own, a new phase of her life began.

The much-loved TV star admitted: “Then I started renting a place and that felt like the first step in a new phase.

"Since then, I’ve really tried to simplify my life, which has been a very positive thing.”

Davina, now 53 and dating hairdresser Michael Douglas, says of the difficult period: “My advice to friends of anyone going through it is: even if someone looks fine, support them. Be there.”

Davina and Matthew were married for 17 years, and are parents to three children, Holly, Tilly, and Chester.

On 26 November 2017, Davina's rep confirmed news of her marriage split: "I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated," the statement read.

"Our amazing children are our number one priority, above everything else so therefore we ask for as much space and respect from the media as possible while our family goes through this difficult time."
