Davina McCall was 'disappointed' after falling in love with Masked Singer's Panda

Davina McCall has admitted she was left 'disappointed' after taking a shine to the Masked Singer's Panda.

The bonkers show returns to ITV in January and judge Davina says the black and white character was so sweet she wanted them to leave their mask on.

Speaking at ITV's entertainment launch she said: "They are so cute that it was a disappointment when they took off their mask and I realised it wasn't a panda.

"Panda needs its own show."

The smash-hit series will be hosted by Joel Dommett, as judges Davina, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Rita Ora try and figure out who's under the costume.

Mo and Jonathan reportedly fell in love with characters Robobunny and Rock Hopper, who cried singing one of their songs.

Davina said: "The reveals are more shocking reveals than ever. Huge names I was not expecting."

Jonathan previously told The Mirror : “I’m looking forward to doing it because it’s a fun way to spend the evening. On The Masked Singer, I’m as much a viewer as a participant, for part of the evening.”

The show has revealed the 12 new characters that will make up the performers for the new series of the ITV show.

There will be a new winner crowned to join Queen Bee (Nicola Roberts) and Sausage (Joss Stone) in the exclusive Masked Singer winners’ club and fans can expect some extraordinary costumes.

The class of 2022 includes Chandelier, Bagpipes, Lionfish, Doughnuts and the brilliantly bonkers Traffic Cone.

The Masked Singer is also going on tour next year, which will comprise of ten shows and kicks off in Liverpool on April 2.

Joel, who will be hosting, said: “This tour is going to be absolutely incredible. I’m so thrilled to be hosting proceedings, as we bring all the excitement and drama of the TV series live to an arena near you.

“And being in arenas means it’s going to be bigger than ever. I’m excited to see who the different celebrities are at every show.

“I don’t know their identities, so I’ll be guessing along with the arena audiences. I can’t wait to get this show on the road in April, it’s going to be epic.”

And in more good news for fans of the fun-filled concept a second series of The Masked Dancer has been ordered for 2022.

The Masked Singer returns on ITV on Saturday January 1 at 7pm.
