Davina McCall reacts to Nikki Grahame death with heartfelt tweet about Big Brother star

A 'desperately sad' Davina McCall has paid tribute to former Big Brother star Nikki Grahame after her death aged 38.

News of Nikki's death was confirmed by friend Leon Dee, who took to social media on Saturday evening to post: "It is with great sadness, we have to let you know that our dear friend Nikki passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April.

"It breaks our hearts to know that someone who is so precious was taken from us at such a young age.

"Nikki not only touched the lives of millions of people, but also her friends and family who will miss her immensely.

"We would like to request privacy at this difficult time, while Nikki's friends and family process the sad news."

Davina presented Big Brother for a decade on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010 so was on the show for Nikki's stint in 2006 and her return for Ultimate Big Brother four years later.

Paying tribute to Nikki after her passing, Davina tweeted: "I am so desperately sad to hear about Nikki Grahame x my thoughts are with her friends and family xx she really was the funniest , most bubbly sweetest girl."

Davina's many Twitter followers were quick to respond to her post, with one replying: "She was a shining light in our dark world. She'll be remember for her famous catchphrase "who is she?" for years to come.

"Such a devastating death, this one has hit me hard. Thoughts to her friends and family"

A second wrote: "It's heartbreaking isn't it. She was a diamond and always made me laugh back in the BB days esp with her well known "who is she?" moment and even more recently when she was on other panel shows. She will be greatly missed. RIP Nikki"
