Presenter Davina McCall has said she “can’t quite believe” she will be the recipient of the outstanding achievement gong for 2026 at the Edinburgh TV Awards.
McCall has been a familiar face on TV since the late 1990s and early 2000s, hosting shows including Streetmate and Big Brother.
In more recent years she has starred in primetime series including Long Lost Family, Million Pound Drop and The Masked Singer.
She has also become an advocate for more public discourse around menopause and women’s health, fronting documentaries such as Sex, Myths And The Menopause and Sex, Mind And The Menopause.
The Edinburgh TV Awards said she is being recognised for her extraordinary contribution to British television and broadcasting.
McCall will appear in conversation at the Edinburgh TV Festival on August 27, reflecting on her wide-ranging career as one of the UK’s best-loved faces on TV.
She said: “I can’t quite believe that I’ve been awarded such an honour for doing something I love so much.
“I have been very lucky to have worked on many amazing shows and with many incredible people over my career, and have learnt so much along the way.
“To be given the outstanding achievement award is huge and I can’t wait to look back at the last 30 years in the session at Edinburgh this summer.”
Previous winners of the award include Sir Lenny Henry, Claudia Winkleman, and Hugh Laurie.
The Edinburgh TV Festival runs from August 25 to 28.
