Davina McCall baffles Masked Dancer fans with 'bird splat' hairdo

Masked Dancer viewers were left a little distracted this evening - and not by the ITV show's jazzy costumes.

Viewers were a little baffled by Davina McCall's unusual hairdo, which saw a white feather poking out of her hair and what seemed like white paint reaching out from her parting.

Host Joel Dommett immediately pointed out her, to which she laughed: "Cruella Davina!"

But fans thought it resembled more of a bird splat, with one tweeting: "Has @PigeonJon been anywhere near Davina's hair? #TheMaskedDancer."

While another commented: "Davina looks like a bird has s*** on her head. #TheMaskedDancer."

A third wrote: "#TheMaskedDancer watch out for the pigeons Davina."

"What has Davina done to her hair?? #TheMaskedDancer," one questioned.

This comes as Louise Redknapp was unmasked as Flamingo on the Masked Dancer this evening.

Offering up the results, judge Davina McCall said: "This was really hard because it's three dancing divas that we've got here."

Among the guesses as to who it could be included Maya Jama, Lisa Snowdon and Dani Dyer.

But the judges were stunned when it actually happened to be former Strictly star Louise, who pointed to Oti and exclaimed: "We've done dance class together!"

"When you see the person behind the mask, it all makes sense!" Davina admitted.

Asked why she had taken part, Louise said: "I love dancing and I think after such a tough year I really needed to get out of the house."

After admitting that her children didn't know that she'd taken part, she said that it had been "really hard" to dance with the huge flamingo head.

Viper became the first character to be unmasked on Saturday evening after losing out to Beetroot and Knickerbocker Glory in the bottom three.

Zip, Llama and Scarecrow made it safely to the next round, however, and fans were stunned as Diversity star Jordan Banjo was revealed to be behind the forked tongue.

After he was unmasked, Jordan joked: "This entire experience was worth it just to be called Anthony Joshua."

Opening up about his reason for taking part, Jordan said: "After the past year we all need to have some fun!"

Admitting that he had found it "super difficult" to keep it a secret, he also added about leaving the competition at this point: "Part of me was gutted but also relieved!"

This comes after the Masked Singer proved to be a huge ratings success for ITV, with Sausage's win in February this year breaking records.

The final of the second series peaked at 10.6million, with an average of 8.6million tuning in to watch the show - which was up by 2.2million on the last series in 2020.

Sausage managed to beat Badger and Robin to secure the crown and was unmasked as singer Joss Stone, leaving the judges utterly speechless.

Meanwhile, Badger was unmasked as singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and Robin as JLS star Aston Merrygold.

Following the release of the ratings, ITV's Managing Director Kevin Lygo said at the time: "In these testing times, we’re delighted that The Masked Singer has brought some escapist joy and light relief to so many viewers at home.

"At the end of a long week in lockdown we’re all coming together and trying to guess who’s dressed as a giant sausage, and quite frankly, it’s been a brilliantly entertaining tonic."
