Davidson's Mains incident: Man arrested for assault after police and fire crews descend on property

Police and fire engines rushed to Main Street in Edinburgh's Davidson's Mains area this afternoon (18 May) in an ongoing incident that saw one of the properties on the street taped off by the authorities.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that police and firefighters were "knocking on house doors" in Davidson's Mains at around 2:40pm. One house has been taped off by firefighters with police outside.

Photos show two police cars and two fire engines at the scene.

Davidson's Mains is a former village which is now a district in the north west of Edinburgh, Scotland. It is adjacent to the districts of Barnton, Cramond, Silverknowes, Blackhall and Corbiehill/House O'Hill.

Police Scotland told Edinburgh Live: "We can confirm that a 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an assault at a property in Main Street, Edinburgh around 3.15pm on Monday, 18 May, 2020.

"The victim was not injured as a result of the incident."
