Davidson Chalmers Stewart hires two lawyers for environment team

Law firm Davidson Chalmers Stewart has recruited Steven McAllister and Chala McKenna to its Environment, Waste and Renewables Team.

McAllister joins as an associate from renewable energy company Renewable Energy Systems (RES) and will bring that experience to dealings with developers, landowners and investors across the sector. He graduated from the University of Glasgow and has previously worked for MacLay Murray & Spens and Burness Paull.

McKenna joins as a senior solicitor after six years as in-house solicitor at SEPA and brings significant environmental experience from a regulatory perspective. The University of Glasgow graduate has previously worked for homelessness charity Shelter and trained with Govan Law Centre.

Both of the new recruits are based in Glasgow.

Laura Tainsh, lead partner in the Environment, Waste and Renewables Team at Davidson Chalmers Stewart, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Chala and Steven to the firm. They both bring valuable but different in-house experience which will further strengthen our team and provide a new perspective which will be invaluable to our clients.

“These appointments underline our focus on attracting specialist experts into the firm to develop existing high growth sectors. They also highlight the continued investment into the environment and renewable energy practice areas within the firm which are going from strength to strength.”
