Davide Ancelotti has teased the start of a "new phase" in coaching as he paid an emotional farewell to Real Madrid.
The highly-rated coach will officially leave the La Liga giants after the final match of the season against Real Sociedad as his father Carlo Ancelotti signs out as manager.
The pair will take charge of Brazil for matches against Ecuador and Paraguay next month before Ancelotti is expected to make his own way in management.
Rangers do not expect to announce their new manager before the end of this week with the search for a new boss ongoing with several candidates being spoken to and no preferred option as yet identified.
However, Ancelotti Jr is thought to be interested in the Rangers job this summer. It's understood the coach has not agreed to assist his father with the Brazil role beyond the friendly matches next month.
The coach has held positive discussions with Rangers but is expected to have multiple offers this summer as he looks to forge a career as a manager in his own right.
Amid the speculation over a possible move to Rangers, Ancelotti has posted a farewell message to Real Madrid.
On Instagram, he wrote: "After 4 years... it's time to say goodbye.
"It's not easy to put into words what leaving Real Madrid means. This club is not just history, it's demand, it's greatness, it's a family.
