David Walliams swipes at Ant and Dec as Britain's Got Talent delights with dancing sausage dogs

Britain’s Got Talent returned to our screens tonight for a new series and it wasn't long before cheeky judge David Walliams was back on form.

The comic made a jibe at hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly as he was reunited with fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden for the 14th series of the ITV talent show.

The panel and the audience were treated to a performance by not just one but five super-cute sausage dogs.

David usually likes to wind up show boss Simon in particular, but this time it was Ant and Dec who he had in his sights.

After Russian dancer Diana Vedyashinka performed with her five pet dachshunds, David made a jibe at Ant and Dec’s height, telling the duo that they could take a 'ride home' on the tiny dogs' backs.

The ITV presenters took the comment in good spirits, laughing and nodding at the joke and needless to say the adorable dogs got four yesses on the show, filmed before the coronavirus crisis.

Watching back at home viewers couldn't handle the cuteness.

"AHHHHHHH SAUSAGE DOGS!!!!!!" yelled one viewer on Twitter.

"I’m watching an act with a bunch of sausage dogs I've peaked," said another.

"The little sausage dogs are sooo cuteee," gasped another fan.

"Day ? of lockdown and I’m crying over trained sausage dogs? WHAT IS GOING ON?" asked another.

And Dec tweeted about the moment: "Sausage dogs are bloody dancing man! D."
