David Walliams ruins Masked Dancer viewers' predictions with guest judge role

The Masked Dancer viewers were sent back to their drawing board with their predictions on who might be Knickerbocker Glory after David Walliams appeared as a guest judge on Thursday night's show.

The celebrated children's author and Britain's Got Talent star joined Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Mo Gilligan for the first double eviction of the series.

The Masked Dancer was recorded a while ago and commenting on being on the show, David said: “I had a blast being a guest judge on the show. It is so silly and fun that you can’t help but have the best time.

"Joel and the other judges made me feel so welcome. It is much harder than judging BGT though. This is more like having to be a detective!”

The very fact David was on the panel immediately thwarted some viewers' guesses that he was competing as Knickerbocker Glory.

Rushing to Twitter, one posted: "I was positive Knickerbocker glory was david walliams but he is a guest on the panel now I don’t have a clue. (RuPaul?)"

Equally flummoxed, another reacted: "ffs well thats david walliams being knickerbockerglory off my list" and a third posted: "So #knickerbockerglory isn't David Walliams, then"

The big tip for Knickerbocker Glory is now Strictly judge Craig Revel-Horwood, thanks to a clue earlier in the week and his voice clearly being heard on Thursday.

One of the clues given by Knickerbocker Glory on the show was: "As a young scoop I won a ____ contest with my jelly _" and the statement marries up with something Craig divulged in his memoir that he once won a a cooking contest with a jellied prawn cocktail.

Other names in the frame to be the giant ice cream include Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz, Su Pollard and Debbie McGee.
