David Walliams releases free audio books for kids on coronavirus lockdown

Children on lockdown will have daily access to some of Britain's best-loved kids books after David Walliams announced he will release a free audio book every day.

The children's author and comedian is reading aloud a story from his World's Worst Children collection each day online at 11am for children who are stuck in the house due to the UK's coronavirus lockdown.

The collection includes best sellers such as Boy in a Dress, Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny.

Audio stories will be read by the former Little Britain star himself and are available to listen to through his website.

They will be available for free for 30 days and Walliams is encouraging families to 'sit down, take a break and enjoy 20ish minutes of pure fun'.

The Britain's Got Talent judge is the latest celebrity to do his bit to keep the nation's kids occupied after the UK Government closed all schools last week in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

In a tweet he wrote: "Those stuck at home with their kids may be able to relate to ‘The World's Worst Children’.

"I’ll be releasing an audio story every day for the next 30 days for free.

"First up is The Terrible Triplets! Enjoy. xxx"

It comes after The Body Coach Joe Wicks launched daily PE sessions live on YouTube.

The fitness sessions have attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers from around the globe.
