David Walliams releases daily audio story for children during coronavirus lockdown

Children's author and comedian David Walliams is releasing a free audio story every day for a month to help keep youngsters entertained while they are at home.

Thousands of children across the country are at home due to school closures amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result, many parents are helping their young ones carry out their school work and are looking for things to keep them occupied.

Now the Britain's Got Talent judge, who has written a string of popular books for youngsters including Boy in a Dress, Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny, is going to be giving parents a helping hand.

He is releasing an audio story from his World's Worst Children collection every day for 30 days for free at 11am.

Announcing the news on Twitter, he said: "Those stuck at home with their kids may be able to relate to ‘The World’s Worst Children’.

"I’ll be releasing an audio story every day for the next 30 days for free. First up is The Terrible Triplets! Enjoy. Xxx"

The World’s Worst Children stories tell the tale of ‘five beastly boys and five gruesome girls’. On Tuesday, his audio story was about Spoiled Brad and on Wednesday it was Grubby Gertrude.

The audio stories can be heard here.

Meanwhile, fans are also awaiting the arrival of his new book, Slime, which is scheduled for release on April 2.
