David Walliams proves his friendship with Ant and Dec goes WAY back as he shares throwback snap

David Walliams has shared an adorable throwback of himself and Ant and Dec.

The trio will be sharing the main stage when Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions airs later this month.

Taking a trip down memory lane, the 47-year-old shared the old picture of himself and the presenting duo on Twitter.

Wearing school uniforms, the pair smiled on standing next to a grinning Walliams.

While tagging Ant and Dec in the picture, the Little Britain actor, tweeted: “An oldie but a goodie.”

The trio began regularly working together when Walliams joined the panel for the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent.

The friends and colleagues are well known for making fun of each other social media.

Filming commenced for Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions last month at London’s Wembley Arena.

The spin-off series will see finalists and winners from past seasons return to the stage in a bid to be crowned the ultimate champion.

Judge Walliams shared a teaser clip for the new show on Twitter that same week.

During the last series, which aired earlier this year, Walliams leapt to the defence of fellow judge Amanda Holden after she received criticism for her outfits during the live shows.

Her outfits were branded “inappropriate for a family show” by a handful of viewers and prompted complaints to Ofcom.

But Walliams was among those to support Holden’s dress sense and said it was a case of people “liking complaining about something” – although he couldn’t resist making a crude joke about Holden.

“I think she looks beautiful every time. I think people like having something to complain about,” Walliams said.

“I think there’s bigger things going on in the world."

The comedian added that he “doesn’t get” the controversy, saying: “There’s always someone that’s unhappy about something in this modern age isn’t there?”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions will air on ITV on August 31.
