David Walliams' new kids' book receives terrible online reviews from pranksters

He’s made £100million from his children’s books but surprisingly David Walliams latest work has received terrible reviews online.

But it’s not because The Beast of Buckingham Palace isn’t an entertaining read – internet pranksters have been leaving negative comments on the book claiming they thought it was about Prince Andrew.

Online giant Amazon has been deleting the jokey reviews of the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s new book – but new ones just keep on popping up.

One reviewer wrote: “I found this book’s advertisement rather misleading.

"The book is advertised as a great adventure but there was not one mention of any valiant dry arm-pitted trips to Pizza Express in Woking.”

Another critic added they were disappointed as there was “not one mention of Epstein. Let down by this Prince Andrew biography”.

One publishing source said: “Prince Andrew has had a terrible week after being slated for his BBC interview, so the coincidental timing of the publication of a book by a bestselling author like David called The Beast of Buckingham Palace will not have been welcome.

“They are also only giving the book one star [rating] which can affect an author’s ranking on their pages.

“Amazon have been very quick to react to these mischievous reviews – but I’m not sure who they are more worried about upsetting – David Walliams , who sells millions of books, or Prince Andrew.”
