Fans of David Walliams will no longer have to wait until the autumn to get excited over a new release, as HarperCollins Children’s Books have revealed that a bonus book will be published in the next few months, ahead of his scheduled novel due out in September.

The World’s Worst Children is billed as an “entertaining, surreal and spectacular” collection of 10 stories, each one written about a delightfully dreadful child. From Dribbling Drew, the boy whose drool always get him into trouble, to Sofia Sofa, a TV super fan and every parent’s worst nightmare, the funny cast of characters is likely to have readers laughing themselves silly.

Walliams said, “I loved writing this collection of stories, as I let my imagination run completely wild. There is a huge emphasis on surreal humour in this book. I hope children around the world will enjoy it, even the most reluctant reader.”

The World’s Worst Children will be available worldwide in both hardback and paperback from the 19 May 2016. The collection will also be available as an e-book audio, with the story narrated by Walliams himself, and as an extra special treat, Walliams’s incredible imagination will be brought to life through illustrations by Tony Ross in a hardback gift edition.
