David Unsworth issues Everton transfer update as Dennis Adeniran joins first-team squad

David Unsworth is confident of Antony Evans securing a move away from Everton in January but believes Dennis Adeniran could remain training with Marco Silva's first-team until the end of the campaign.

Evans has enjoyed an impressive start to the new Premier League 2 season and scored a beautiful free-kick against Manchester City on Friday evening.

Adeniran, meanwhile, is now involved with the senior set-up on a daily basis at Finch Farm.

Unsworth, during the summer, told the ECHO that Evans was likely to leave the club on either a permanent or temporary deal and he reiterated that claim following the 2-2 draw with City.

"I still think it will materialise, I just think it will be in January because he's producing levels of performance and he's scoring goals now," the former Everton defender said.

"It gets his name on the sheet, his profile raised and I think, I've no doubt, that he'll get a move."

Unsworth was often called-upon to take set-pieces during his time at Everton but the 21-year-old's delivery has caught the manager's eye.

"I think he's a bit better than I was!" he laughed. "He's consistently putting the ball in the right areas and he's a threat, not just centrally to score goals, but wide areas.

"The assists he's getting, the opportunities he's creating, it's a great weapon. It really is a great weapon."

Adeniran has made six appearances for the under-23s this term after lifting the Premier League 2 last time around.

He is now training with the first-team and Unsworth says this could scupper his chances of a loan move after joining from Fulham in 2017.

"There's a potential of Dennis," he added. "I'm not too sure, he trains with the first-team every day which is great for him and he's getting his games with us.

"[A loan] might be a possibility but it wouldn't surprise me if he stayed until the end of the season with the first-team so who knows?"
