David Turnbull wins Celtic Player of the Year double to cap a remarkable season for the Wishaw ace

David Turnbull has been named Celtic's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

The 21 year-old has been excellent since joining the Parkhead side and his performances have been recognised by winning the biggest two accolades at Celtic's end of season awards.

Turnbull departed boyhood club Motherwell for Celtic in a £3 million pound move in August and he's been the shining light during a disappointing season.

The Wishaw star has scored eight goals and provided seven assists as he emerged as a key player for Celtic.

It caps a remarkable day for Turnbull, who was also nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award this afternoon.

Turnbull's double win was announced live on Celtic TV before their final home game of the season tonight against St Johnstone.
